User Reviews

Overall, players praise the Medabots Survivors for tapping nostalgia, offering easy-to-learn, fun Survivor-style gameplay with solid art and a broad cast of characters. However, the game is widely criticized for its monetization and accessibility issues: heavy pay-to-win gacha with low pull rates, frequent ads and event banners, and a grinding-heavy progression that locks top rewards behind purchases. Several reviews also note a lack of depth or customization and view the title as an unoriginal reskin. The core experience is enjoyable for fans, but monetization risks overshadow it.
Pros
  • Nostalgia-driven appeal for the Medabots IP
  • Easy to learn and accessible gameplay
  • Fun core Survivor-style gameplay
  • Attractive art/design and Medabots visuals
  • Strong roster/variety of characters
Cons
  • Predatory monetization: gacha with very low pull rates and top units locked behind purchases
  • Ad-heavy experience: frequent banners and ad-supported pulls; free pulls often require watching ads
  • Repetitive/unoriginal gameplay and lack of depth (feels like a reskin)
  • Slow progression with grinding and event gating; limited free currency
  • No customization options for Medabots

First thing first, the gameplay is fun for a mobile game. The unique abilities give each battle a different feel. It’s incredibly satisfying when you power up to the highest level and mow down everything in your path. That’s why it sucks that the game is an incredibly pay-to-win gacha grind. Your experience can very greatly on your starting roll. I didn’t have a great start, but I picked up a strong bot early and discovered how fun it can be. To level up your bots, you need duplicates and upgrade materials. Once you get a bot to UR rank, there are three UR ranks to pass through to get to LR. To pass from UR+2 to LR, you need an identical UR bot. This is incredibly time consuming if you want to level an SP bot. The SP bots (the strongest bots) are only available from the special gacha or the featured gachas. The drop rates are abysmal, and earning currency is a grind. Earning resources to level up your medal slots is a whole other thing that depends on waiting real time hours in “Meda search” to find some upgrade materials. Then there are “medalia” which provide buffs, but you have to play a digging minigame to find them. You also have to find resources to PLAY the digging minigame, again through Meda search. You can’t get ahead through skill. You have to either pay for any of the many resources in the game, or grind. It’s too bad. Like I said, the gameplay is fun, but the monetization model is horrible. All the different currencies and upgrade materials feel like they’re intentionally put there to hinder your progress, extract money from you, and force you to watch ads. I don’t play many mobile games, so I don’t know how the monetization model compares with others, but in Pokemon TCG there’s a ton to do without spending money. I’ve collected every diamond in each expansion so far without having to spend a dime. I can always battle with other people or the computer for free anytime too. WITH NO ADS. Eventually, if you’re free to play, you get to a point where you’re just pushing buttons to collect various resources, clicking on ads to earn currency, and waiting for your Meda search to dig up something useful.

They give you 10 diamonds per difficult or time consuming challenge like it’s Grand (300 diamonds for one pull, 3K for 10 pulls btw) Imagine $99 for a copy of the Legendary pull you got and a bit of diamond of the side because that’s exactly what they offer. Everything is so hard to obtain unless you dump real money or last a month of free grind and constant long Ads. Every event you will get nothing good because you need to spend money to reach the higher goals that are actually worth it. Have to watch really long Ads for the daily breadcrumbs or pay monthly to remove Ads. They are choking your childhood nostalgia till you give in a pay.
