Features & Capabilities

Notes are where your thoughts go to die. Recall is here to change that.

Recall is a daily note-taking app that makes it effortless to capture your thoughts and ensure they stay organized without any manual effort. Unlike traditional note-taking apps, you don't need to create folders or organize your notes—Recall does it for you, automatically.

Start each day with a fresh note, and let Recall handle the rest. Your notes are displayed chronologically, organized by the hour, making it easy to revisit your day at a glance. You can also create powerful "folders" that update themselves based on your categories or keywords.

With Recall, you can:

Capture Daily Notes Effortlessly: Every day, you begin with a blank slate, ready to note down anything that comes to mind.

Organize Without Thinking: Use a simple colon after the first word (e.g., "Home: Water the plants") to instantly categorize your notes.

Create Smart Recalls: Automatically organize your notes based on categories or use custom Recalls to filter your entries by up to 5 keywords, making it easy to find what matters most.

Whether it's keeping track of daily thoughts, managing to-dos, or recalling key information, Recall makes sure your thoughts are always within reach—organized, searchable, and ready when you need them.

Recall: Don't let your thoughts slip away. Organize them effortlessly.

I’ve been looking for a new note app for sometime. Recall is interesting. It merges the gap between a list manager and a note app with a unique spin. I like that the developer is thinking different. I like the clean UI. I like the easy drag and drop on notes and tasks and being able to see them in the same view. I like being able to add a title to organize lists or emphasize importance. I like that you can view your day’s iOS Calendar events (pro). I like that you can add links and photos too. It will take some getting used to — how it all works. And a faq would be helpful. After using it for just a day I find it scratches some itches that I’ve not satisfied in other apps. However there are a few things that could make better. I’m not sure if it has iCloud sync but if not, that would be top of my list. Let us swipe between days to navigate between them easily without having to go back to the home screen first. Option to allow photo to take up more of the view like in the developer’s other app, Today app. A full screen view for the details / note area for writing longer notes. Some more accent colors than the default 3. Some pleasing background themes (perhaps based on a subtle hue of the accent color). Category / Folder icons to choose from. Notifications for future tasks or notes you want to be reminded of. Apple Watch app for selective Recalls or Categories (with complications) — I can see a lot of uses for having Recalls(notes/tasks) on the watch. There seems to be some overlap between the the two apps — TodayApp and Recall. But for some reason I find Recall more useful and appealing to use. It seems to use a different area of the brain — where as most todo/list list apps lean towards the left side, Recall seems to be more right brained — it feels like a blank canvas and inspires my creative side and is also more fun to use than most I’ve tried. Also, note/task creation/modification date discretely placed would be welcomed (like in the note/task/title view). The date is really a schedule option which can be helpful, but not a true creation date. Lately, it would be nice if notes and tasks could have an all day option rather than be restricted to times of day. And better still, an option to let them extend multiple days. I think Recall is off to a promising start. Here’s to hoping the developer continues to refine and improve it. After the trial I am considering purchasing the pro. Would be great if a special intro pricing for early adopters was available, particularly on the Lifetime, because $30 is kinda steep for such a new app. And I might suggest an additional tip jar so loyal users could reward your work as new updates are released. Just my two cents. Regardless, you are to be commended for the work and for thinking outside the box.

I won’t give a bad review if this app is not trying to charge you badly at this stage. The general idea of this app is really similar to Things 3, but this app is developed as a toy instead of a real nicely-crafted app. Make it fully free if you really want to grow.

The app has a nice design. I created a task but could not move it to a different day or indicate when the task was due. Also, there was no data export, no reports, and no share to email or other app.
