Get the latest updates on wildfire locations with the CSIR's AFIS Wildfire Map app that puts vital wildfire information at your fingertips. AFIS gives you access to fires detected globally by NASA's Terra and Aqua satellites as well as the SNPP and NOAA-20 satellites.

This app provides native access to the AFIS Viewer that is available online at https://viewer.afis.co.za/

This app replaces the previous AFIS app that was no longer maintainable. New features will be added over time.

This app is junk since the update. Absolutely no usable information, just a map. No future forecast, fire danger index or wind direction. Get the old information back or you will lose all of your current users........

After this new update the app is not a pleasure at all. Use It almost daily and now I can not get the data that I use to get. Please fix it

I use this app daily and has helped a lot in getting to fires at satellite sites that are not staffed. It hasnt worked well since December 2018 and has become a serious problem. Its peak fire season now and I dont have the use off this important resource. Please fix it.
