User Reviews

Review highlights show SplashLearn is praised for engaging, game-like content that helps math and reading and for solid progress tracking and homeschooling support via reports and controls. Key drawbacks center on billing/subscription issues and refunds, customer service concerns, device/login access challenges (especially on iPad/parent accounts), and price/value questions with some calls for better initial assessment/personalization. Overall, the app is loved for learning engagement and progress visibility but users want smoother billing, better cross-device access, and more adaptive learning features.
Pros
  • Engaging, game-like activities that make learning fun and improve math and reading while boosting kids’ confidence.
  • Strong progress tracking and reporting for parents/teachers, including time spent and skill mastery, helpful for homeschooling.
  • Broad range of topics with rewards/achievement features; appeals to kids and supports independent practice.
  • Parent/teacher controls and features (focus areas, time limits, progress summaries) that reduce parental prep and monitoring effort.
Cons
  • Billing and subscription issues, including charges, renewals, refunds, and poor customer support.
  • Frequent login/access problems across devices (notably iPad), and trouble handling parent/child accounts.
  • Perceived high price/value mismatch and recurring payments or extra charges for features.
  • Desire for better initial assessment and more personalized/adaptive learning.

The app has not opened on one of 2 kids profiles with no way to resolve. I downloaded just the math app to bypass issues but it won’t let me login in from a different app and sends me directly to the app that doesn’t work.

My family loves splash learn! As a mom of 3, I chose to homeschool my children. My oldest is 5 and he loves the classes. He is currently doing a first grade curriculum. I love how this can be used to supplement any math or reading we may be doing. We recently discovered the learning path. Although we've had the app for about 3 years, we never tried it. I love how it adjusts to how well my son performs in a subject. I do wish that the lesson plans explained certain subjects instead of jumping right into it though. Overall, I highly recommend this app! ****UPDATE**** I have used SplashLearn for several years, but I ultimately decided to cancel my subscription due to the lack of effective communication and customer support. If you need assistance, the only option available is through their online chat. There is no telephone number where you can speak directly with a representative. While the chat may connect you with a live person, I find the lack of a direct customer service phone line frustrating, especially when dealing with subscription or account-related issues. Today, I received an email offering a significant discount to resubscribe. However, when I attempted to activate the promotion, it only applied to one child. While I understand that the promotion may be limited to one child, the system did not give me the option to choose which child I wanted the discount applied to. This was another disappointing experience and further highlighted the communication and customer service issues I have experienced with the company. After using SplashLearn for several years, I have also found other educational programs that I prefer, such as Reading Eggs and Mathseeds. I appreciate programs that not only teach new concepts but also provide children with refreshers and additional instruction when they are struggling, rather than assuming they already understand the material. Ultimately, I don’t believe parents need to spend an excessive amount of money for their children to receive quality educational practice. There are other affordable programs available that provide comparable, and in some cases better, educational support. For these reasons, I chose not to renew my SplashLearn subscription.
