User Reviews

Review highlights show SplashLearn is praised for engaging, game-like content that helps math and reading and for solid progress tracking and homeschooling support via reports and controls. Key drawbacks center on billing/subscription issues and refunds, customer service concerns, device/login access challenges (especially on iPad/parent accounts), and price/value questions with some calls for better initial assessment/personalization. Overall, the app is loved for learning engagement and progress visibility but users want smoother billing, better cross-device access, and more adaptive learning features.
Pros
  • Engaging, game-like activities that make learning fun and improve math and reading while boosting kids’ confidence.
  • Strong progress tracking and reporting for parents/teachers, including time spent and skill mastery, helpful for homeschooling.
  • Broad range of topics with rewards/achievement features; appeals to kids and supports independent practice.
  • Parent/teacher controls and features (focus areas, time limits, progress summaries) that reduce parental prep and monitoring effort.
Cons
  • Billing and subscription issues, including charges, renewals, refunds, and poor customer support.
  • Frequent login/access problems across devices (notably iPad), and trouble handling parent/child accounts.
  • Perceived high price/value mismatch and recurring payments or extra charges for features.
  • Desire for better initial assessment and more personalized/adaptive learning.

I like this for my toddler and 1st grader but not my 4th. My 4th grader will fill in the writing and it will tell her it’s wrong. Then multiple choice pops up and her answer is right there. It’s very frustrating for her and me. I also wish it had an option to teach how to do equations. I mean kids do forget. She’s capable of all the math but forgets how to figure some of the fractions out etc. Another app we use has a button that will give a quick review. This is a cool app and has a lot of activities but in the end I decided to cancel our subscription.

It’s so cool

I’m really disappointed with SplashLearn’s pricing and subscription setup. I signed up for the monthly plan at $11.99, thinking I was paying for full access to the app for my child. Apparently, that plan only includes 10 lessons per day, which was not clearly presented upfront. Then, once my child hit the limit, she came to me confused because the app was asking for more money to continue. Suddenly there was another upgrade option for around $7 more per month, bringing the total closer to $19/month. That option was not clearly shown when I originally signed up, and the daily lesson limit was not made obvious. It feels very predatory toward parents and kids. If there are limits, they should be clearly explained before checkout, not discovered after a child is already using the app. The learning content may be fine, but the way the subscription is structured feels misleading and frustrating. I would not recommend this app unless they make their pricing and limits much more transparent.
