Features & Capabilities

Lost For Swords is a roguelike deck-building game where the cards in your deck shape the rooms you explore. New Warlock hero, ascend the tower, equip weapons and armor, cast spells and scrolls, trigger auras, and fight monsters in tactical turn-based combat. The catch: equipment you pick can only be used once, so plan your resources carefully to reach the next floor. Your equipment and dungeon cards are shuffled together, creating a unique challenge on every run.

Between floors you can upgrade your equipment to strengthen your deck and uncover synergies between cards, building the strongest possible strategy to conquer higher floors.

User Reviews

Reviews praise Lost for Swords for its clever deck-based dungeon creation, deep replayability, and polished design, plus portrait-mode mobile play and a generous content approach with no ads. Main concerns are monetization and a pay-to-progress feel, RNG-driven frustration, and a desire for more content and characters. Some note UI scaling/accessibility gaps and occasional awkward movement. Overall, it’s a unique, well-crafted roguelike deckbuilder that shines in novelty and depth, with strong appetite for updates and expansions.
Pros
  • Unique spatial deckbuilder that forms the dungeon, tying movement, enemies, and loot to card placement.
  • High replayability and depth with varied decks, rooms, and builds.
  • Portrait-mode mobile play, great for quick sessions or longer runs.
  • No ads or microtransactions; generous free content with a fair full unlock.
  • Polished, well-designed experience with a satisfying sense of progression.
Cons
  • Monetization can feel like a paywall: progression often requires paying, with some reviews calling the model deceptive.
  • RNG can be punishing or frustrating, including unreachable items or quest availability issues.
  • Short overall length; players consistently want more characters, towers, and broader content.
  • UI scaling issues and limited accessibility features noted by some players.
  • Movement/controls can feel awkward at times, impacting combat pacing.

This game is really cool. The four different classes provide totally different gameplay within the same mechanics. The mechanics are unique in a way that discourages too small a deck and too large a deck (with exceptions of course). Totally worthwhile purchase. I was a little put off by the presentation at first so if you are too stick it through to at least the second tower and see how you feel.

The game feels slightly more elevated than your average mobile game, but not too complex where it feels overwhelming. The challenge and difficulty factor is appropriate for a mobile game, the randomness and floor generation really makes you think strategically, and the artwork looks great. My only complaint is that the text can be a bit small to read, but other than that, it’s a fun game!
