Band & orchestra stage charts
Build stage layouts for concert band, orchestra and percussion ensembles: place instrument symbols, overlay on a stage photo, align with a grid, and save as an image.
Layout 4 Band helps you build a stage layout for your ensemble in minutes, using just your phone or tablet. Decide who stands where and which instrument goes where: place instrument symbols on the canvas, arrange them, and save the whole chart as an image you can share.
Who it is for
- Concert band and orchestra directors, conductors, student conductors, and section leaders
- Percussion ensemble instructors and planners
- Concert and contest stage crew, stage managers, and audio staff
- Anyone who needs to diagram and share who stands where for a musical group
Main features
Place instrument symbols
Tap the canvas to drop a symbol where you want it. Scroll the palette at the top to pick one. Tap for the default size; some symbols offer size and type variants on a long press.
Edit freely
Drag to move, pinch to scale, and rotate any symbol. A long press opens a detail menu: copy, delete, delete multiple, reset rotation, reset scale, and edit text. Select All and Select Multiple are supported too.
Overlay on a real stage photo
Photograph the actual stage or rehearsal room floor, set it as the background, and lay out on top of it. Pick an existing photo or take one with the camera. When a background image is loaded, the canvas matches its proportions.
Line things up with the center cross and grid
Choose a level: off, center cross only, or a grid with 2, 4, or 8 divisions. Use the cross through the canvas center and the grid to get symmetrical, evenly spaced setups fast. You can also choose whether the grid appears in the saved image.
Save by name and pick up where you left off
Save your work on the device under a name and reopen it any time from the list. Work in progress is saved automatically so you can resume next time.
Export and share as an image
Your finished chart is rendered to a high-resolution PNG and saved to your device Photos or gallery, ready to send by message or email.

- Optimized for both phones and tablets
