Very expensive to play this battery killing game

I was really enjoying the game but right before an "Event" ended the game no longer assigned tasks after fulfilling the tasks that were listed. I could still send trains to get raw materials and produce things but there were no longer tasks assigned. I completed all tasks inside all maps but the game stopped advancing. I could no longer pick up passengers and heavy haul jobs stopped appearing. I've upgraded my trains as much as possible even getting to "max" but the game just seems to have me in limbo. I contacted customer support but they said to wait a few hours. That's been many hours ago and still nothing.

This game is super fun to play overall and really enjoy it, my only issue is if you don’t spend any money only expect to play for 15-30 minutes each day because then you run out of fuel, and to upgrade and progress in the game at a decent speed you have to spend money. Otherwise the game is very fun!
