Features & Capabilities

Card Centering Calculator is the ultimate tool for measuring your card’s centering ratios for grading. It supports Pokémon, One Piece, Lorcana, and sports cards like baseball, basketball, and football, offering real-time centering measurements and showing the highest potential grades from PSA, BGS, SGC, CGC, TAG, and ACE. AI-powered auto-detection combines with precise manual adjustments for ultra-accurate results.

Key features include front-and-back centering, a grading standards reference, advanced settings and visualizations for off-center cards, and compatibility with all card types. This makes it ideal for collectors, sellers, and buyers who want to maximize grading outcomes—while noting that other grading factors remain evaluated by the grading companies.

User Reviews

Reviewers broadly praise Card Centering Calculator for being easy to use and affordable, with positive notes about the free version and a one-time purchase option. Many report it can accurately estimate centering and grading when cards are photographed and aligned carefully, making it a helpful tool for hobbyists. However, persistent camera detection/calibration problems, the need for precise alignment, and inconsistent results reduce reliability. Ads and a paid upgrade model frustrate some users, with several calling for less intrusive monetization or clearer pricing. Overall, solid value for enthusiasts who can manage camera issues and pricing.
Pros
  • Easy to use and beginner-friendly

  • Helps estimate centering and grading with high accuracy when cards are photographed and aligned carefully
  • Free version offers meaningful functionality and adds value for hobbyists

Cons
  • Camera detection and calibration problems causing unreliable centering results
  • Accuracy heavily depends on precise card placement and camera leveling; misalignment yields unreliable scores
  • Ads and premium pricing gate features; some users dislike the subscription-like model and difficulty canceling
  • Limited/back-side capture issues and occasional missing features (e.g., flipping to a back photo)

Do yourself a favor and get this tool. It’s a huge improvement over the physical centering tools and it’s the most valuable tool in my toolbox, including maybe my loupe. Are you really going to slide a piece of acrylic or plastic around on the surface of your cards trying to get the card centered up? You can have the card in a penny sleeve but those just make the card stick to the plastic. They’re also really hard to read and hard to use. While measuring the left side you’re constantly wondering if the right side is still lined up. With this tool, you don’t have those worries. The perspective fix feature works incredibly well too, but you’ll rarely need it because the leveling feature on the camera works great. I take my pictures about 8 inches from the card when The leveler gives me the green and I rarely need to fix the perspective, but I will use it anyway because of the zoom it gives me into my corners. I got this tool originally because the AI apps I was testing turned out to be really bad at judging centering, so this app hits the sweet spot of digital aid and DYI. There is a lot of variance in how the different grading companies will ding your cards for centering and it’s super helpful to see all of their probable scores in real time in one place. The dev is very responsive.
