User Reviews

Users praise Tuta for a privacy-first design, cross-device syncing, and a feature-rich, customizable calendar in a clean UI. However, stability issues, data loss risks, missing widgets, and limited holiday support are common. View and scheduling rigidity, plus the absence of a built-in calendar widget, are frequent requests from multiple reviews.
Pros
  • Strong privacy and independence from Google/Apple, with a privacy-first approach.
  • Cross-device syncing that updates across all devices while keeping data private.
  • Feature-rich and highly customizable (reminders, repeats, appointment types, nested time organization).
  • Clean, minimalist UI with tasteful color schemes and intuitive views.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and reliability issues, including offline/online problems and data loss or unsaved events.
  • Lack of a calendar widget; no home screen widget available.
  • No built-in holidays and limited holiday presets; manual entry needed.
  • Inflexible views and scheduling: limited 8-hour-per-day week view, 30-minute increments, and no easy month+agenda view or drag-to-reschedule.
Recent reviews
Fully functional and calendar subscriptions work great. It's very streamlined. I like the color schemes and how you can toggle between the agenda view (which is new to me!) and the other time frames. The subscription system is nice, it allows me to nest my time organization, with my tuta calendar being the most micro and detailed. I am guessing I'll adjust to the minimalist framework and start to relax a little. Really impressed with everything tuta has created.

I'm very thankful that I have a calendar alternative that isn't connected to Apple or Google. I was using a paper calendar, but the phone reminders were something I missed
