Quote Requests are a reverse auction. Buyers specify the products, quantities, and delivery/pick-up date range for the order. Sellers respond with details for price, expiry date, and balance due date. During this supply-and-demand discovery process, both counterparties are unknown to each other. Identities are revealed during the contracting process.

Contracts are standard bulk farm input purchase agreements between the buyer and seller. Initiate a contract directly from your chosen quote. This contract is executed after the Buyer makes a 25% downpayment to ClearCost’s in-trust account, and DocuSigns the agreement. Once these steps are complete, counterparties become known to each other. On ClearCost, both counterparties contract terms before knowing each other’s identity.

Payments are settled through ClearCost’s in-trust account at RBC. Downpayments are due within 10 calendar days of initiating a contract, and balances are due by the date specified in the quote by the Seller. Both payments can be made by either credit card or bank transfer (ACH, EFT, etc.). Funds are held in-trust until both parties confirm the products have changed control. The app contains a dispute feature that either party may initiate. Details for dispute resolutions are contained in the contract.

Freight features support both delivered (DEL) and pick-up (FOB) orders. For DEL orders, the app notifies Buyers of releases and delivery times as Sellers add them. Buyers, Sellers, and Drivers can all communicate with each other through ClearCost. Track deliveries to your bin yard. For FOB orders, Buyers arrange their pick-up time with Sellers through the same communications feature. The freight feature supports multiple releases for both DEL and FOB orders.
