Version 6.0 is a full rebuild. The app now recognises the bite in your photo instead of guessing from a questionnaire.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

• Point and shoot. A live camera with a viewfinder frames the bite — no hunting through your photo library. • Get a likely cause. Your photo is matched against a reference library of common bites and stings. • Watch it change. Add a new photo to the same bite and see the whole series with dates and times. • See a risk level on every photo in that history, so a bite that is getting worse is obvious. • Read what to watch for: symptoms, how each bite usually heals, and the signs that mean see a doctor.

WHAT IS FREE AND WHAT IS NOT

Taking photos, keeping your bite history and reading the reference library are free. The detailed identification result requires a Premium subscription. We would rather you knew that here than after you have taken the photo.

COMMON CASES

Mosquito bites, bed bug bites, tick bites, spider bites and flea bites. Ant, wasp and bee stings. Mite and chigger bites. The rash, itch and swelling that follow them.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Open the camera and photograph the bite in good light.
2. The app analyses the image and reports the likely insect with a risk level.
3. Add a follow-up photo a day later to see how it is healing.

IMPORTANT

This is an identification aid, not a medical device, and it does not diagnose. If a bite is spreading quickly, if you have trouble breathing, or if you feel unwell, contact a doctor or emergency services — do not wait for an app.

PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTION

Three plans are available: Premium Year, Premium Month and Premium Week Access. All three unlock the same thing — unlimited bite recognition for the chosen period. Payment is charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renewal is switched off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
