Features & Capabilities

The Baseline platform is committed to making a positive impact (see our Social Impact Statement) by addressing the issue of concussion in both children and adults. Whilst professional sports teams have access to numerous cutting-edge (and expensive) concussion technologies to assist their players and staff, community clubs and Australian kids/parents are left without access to adequate tools, tracking and education around concussion.

Our mission is to provide an accessible and affordable digital platform that helps parents, coaches, club staff, healthcare providers and individuals understand and manage their concussions; as well as promote awareness and education around this critical issue, thereby easing anxiety and fostering safer participation in community sport, at all ages and levels.

We are committed to promoting equity and inclusion by ensuring that our resources are accessible to individuals from all backgrounds, regardless of income, location or other barriers.

Our vision is clear: to “baseline” every child in Australia. Less than 1% of Australians are currently baselined and without a baseline screening, concussion assessments can be akin to guesswork—based on broad demographics and individual clinical opinion.

There is a material increase in the pressure being put on sporting codes, schools and parents when it comes to concussion; and there is intense Australian media focus on the alarmingly lacklustre global protocols around concussion—a direct result of the dearth of data globally on concussion management (with the data that does exist being collected in a siloed and disparate manner).

Baseline is focused on catalysing the turning point in concussion; empowering safer play and re-establishing the building blocks of trust in our community, in the various sports themselves and in their governing bodies; radically improving the alarmingly lacklustre global protocols around concussion through contribution to research; and driving participation in grassroots sports.

Our digital platform (app and desktop) is a tool for parents, coaches, club staff, healthcare providers and individuals for the investigation of concussion, injury management, holistic player care and risk compliance.

We provide our users with a number of features:

  • Baseline concussion screening

  • Post-concussion screening

  • Immediate aftercare

  • Treatment plans

  • Medical history management

  • Injury logs

  • Pre-activity safety checklists for clubs in order to remain safety and risk compliant

  • Accessible tracking of individuals’ concussion and injury history across different schools and organisations

  • Role-based access and permissions

  • Easy-to-use, instructional features
