flo is an open source client for the Navidrome Music Server — stream your favorite music anytime, anywhere, online or offline.

While it is still in early development, it provides all the essential features for streaming music from your Navidrome Music Server. It also supports offline playback to save battery and bandwidth especially if you travel a lot like me!

I will add more essential and 'nice-to-have' features as it progresses, as I use this app almost every day: every time I plug in AirPods!

Requirements: • Note that for SSL support you must have a valid certificate. Invalid certificates will cause connection errors. • Important: flo is compatible with standalone Navidrome servers only. Installations behind Identity-aware Proxy (IAP) are not supported at this time • Get Navidrome Music Server at: https://www.navidrome.org/

Reviewers generally praise flo as a solid Navidrome client with a clean UI and reliable access to music/playlists, plus strong potential. Common downsides are Tailscale/private-network login problems, disabled scrobbling, missing library navigation features (pagination/search) and transcoding, AirPlay issues, and occasional UI/layout bugs on some devices. Localization requests also appear. The app is promising but needs fixes for VPN usage, large libraries, and device-specific UI problems.

Pros

Clean, aesthetically pleasing UI.
Core music playback and access to playlists work reliably.
Appears to support all major Navidrome features and offers a solid baseline with good potential.

Cons

Tailscale/private network login issues and HTTPS restrictions hinder access.
In-app scrobbling to Last.fm/ListenBrainz is disabled.
Library navigation limitations: no pagination or search and no transcoding for large libraries.
AirPlay button is not working.
UI/layout issues on certain devices (e.g., iPhone 13 with iOS 18).
