User Reviews

Overall, users praise Curio for ease of use and useful price estimates, especially for collectors who want quick identifications and a way to catalog finds. However, frequent inaccuracies and inconsistent pricing undermine reliability, with several reviews noting wrong identifications, wildly varying prices for the same item, and no simple mechanism to correct labels. Some usability gaps persist, such as limited photo uploads and scanning freezes, along with occasional billing confusion. The app is valued but reliability and transparency need improvement.
Pros
  • Easy to use / beginner-friendly
  • Helpful for identifying antiques and estimating prices
  • Valuable for collectors and for cataloging photos
  • Worth the price; paying for a premium app
  • Often faster and more direct than competitors
Cons
  • Inaccurate identifications and pricing; unreliable
  • Inconsistent results; same item shows multiple prices/descriptions
  • No easy way to correct mislabeling or flag errors
  • Limited photo input (multi-photo loading not supported) and occasional scanning freezes
  • Billing/subscription issues and misleading pricing (unwanted plan)

Absolutely wonderful app to have when thrifting

This app does a pretty good job of identifying antiques and their origins. Sometimes, however, it’s way off base and identifies silver poorly. The worst part of this app is its market value estimations. Everything is $50-$150. Everything and considering the state of the antiques market currently these prices are way over blown. It would be helpful if you could put in information that you already know about a piece before it does its analysis. For instance, I had a silver dish from pre-1914 and the app identified it as 1950s silver plate. Once I entered the additional information that it was pre-1914 with no identification on the back other than hallmarks ,it identified it as Sterling from England and guess what ,the current value was $100-$150. Useful for ID only.
