Bought the traverse helmet got the pod now unable to create an account due to not receiving the OTP code upon sign up

What a great idea, putting an accelerometer in a helmet and training to recognize when you’ve been in an accident and automatically notifying the authorities in a preset selection of contacts. Nothing about Quin works. I can’t even carry my helmet on foot without false alarms going off constantly. The only way I’m allowed to move. My helmet with Quinn is to take the batteries out when I’m not using it. The app gives no ability to un enroll your device from the service and so I am stuck with a helmet I don’t want to touch because it constantly thinks I’m being killed.

I'm writing this to help others save time and money. I'm very technical and take UI testing seriously. I bought an ebike and wanted an equally technical and safe helmet, so I purchased a Lumos Nyxel. I don't usually add my real info into an app until I can guage whether or not the privacy is acceptable. I finally felt comfortable sharing with this app (Quin) and tried to change the name and email to my actual info, but you can't. So I tried deleting my account and starting all over, but my phone number was already used. Obviously, the account wasn't deleted because I logged right back in and all the info I'd previously entered was still there. Furthermore, when I first opened the app, it asked for my blood type. I finally found it, but now I can't find a place to put it in the app. Did anyone test this app before pushing it out? It's not very user-friendly. There's an SOS button with the number 12 layered on top, which looks like a notification, so I pushed it. Yeah, that was dumb. Loud alarm noise emits from my phone and when I read about what it meant, I wondered if I'd just used one of my 12 free SOS alerts, but the number remained at 12. I'm probably just going to delete it and depend on my Apple watch to notify someone if I fall. The light settings don't exist in the app as instructed in the FAQs. Every single thing I encountered was all because there were zero instructions that came in the box and I couldn't figure out how to pair the turn signal controller with the helmet. Lo, and behold, now I need the Ride Lumos app to connect the controller to the helmet. TWO apps to use a bike helmet the way it's been marketed. The Lumos app instructs you to press and hold the power button on the signal remote for three seconds. There is NO power button on the device! I pressed the left and right (signal) buttons simultaneously and it flashed quickly- a universal sign it had entered pairing mode, except the app never picked it up. Yes, bluetooth is on and obviously, the battery is inserted correctly in the remote or it wouldn't light up in the first place. The Lumos Nyxel is not the only MIPS helmet with lights, but it's the only one I found with turn signals. Now that it doesn't work, requiring two apps to supposedly work, and was the most expensive of the three I purchased, I probably won't keep it. I've already found alternatives like Unit1, among others. Wish I'd just done more research before purchasing, but I was excited to ride the bike and now I have to wait even longer for a new helmet because this app just absolutely tanked the Lumos name and reputation.
