User Reviews

Players praise the game for its ad-free experience, beautiful visuals, deep strategic depth, accessible free-to-play model, and fast, asynchronous matches with frequent updates. However, the experience is repeatedly tempered by RNG-driven balance issues and some overpowered captains, monetization concerns around paywalls, and perceived limitations in card availability and deck customization.
Pros
  • Ad-free experience (no ads and no AI interference).
  • Beautiful card art and overall visual design.
  • Deep, strategic deck-building with variety and regular updates.
  • F2P-friendly with free captains after a few months and free gems; generally not pay-to-win.
  • Quick, asynchronous gameplay with short, timer-free matches.
Cons
  • RNG-heavy gameplay with balance issues; luck can dominate matches and some captains feel overpowered.
  • Monetization/paywalls can gate content or require paying for more captain options.
  • Perceived limits on card/captain variety and deck customization; may not see chosen captain's cards.

I’m not usually into TCG/Deck building games much, and this game is definitely a lot of fun, but it very much so seems to assume you know how to play this sort of game. There’s almost no tutorial of sorts, and even less telling you what is going on. I’m doing pretty well I think, but it’s a lot of me just guessing and praying. I would love if there was at least some sort of way to look up things to understand more - like what does a treasure actually look like, what is a spell, how often can things be used? Overall it isn’t clearly labeled or, basically, complete beginner friendly. I still don’t even know how to build myself a custom deck, and once I have, where to find it. The game is fun and I play it a lot, which is why I gave it 4 stars, but for how much I get lost or confused, I really wanted to give it 3.
