Features & Capabilities

CINQ by Coinstar is a multi-functional fintech wallet that turns cash or coins into spendable funds. It combines a reloadable Mastercard debit card with a crypto wallet powered by Zero Hash, giving you freedom to pay, invest, or move money—whether you’re at a kiosk, online, or on the go. Load funds at 10,000+ Coinstar kiosks, transfer via ACH or direct deposit, and use either the physical card or digital wallet with Apple Pay across Mastercard accepting merchants. The crypto side supports 30+ assets in app and 25+ assets at kiosks, with buy, sell, and transfer features. CINQ aims for transparency, low fees, and robust security for cash, cards, and crypto.

User Reviews

Overall, CINQ by Coinstar is praised for ease of use and strong kiosk integration with expanded crypto features, but reliability and money-access issues dominate user feedback. Repeated complaints cover sign-in bugs, QR/scan failures, funds being stuck or not credited, withdrawals blocked, and long refunds. Fees are cited as high or unclear, and customer service is frequently criticized as unhelpful. Identity verification problems that lock accounts are also common. The positives are overshadowed by persistent issues around reliability and money access.
Pros
  • Very easy to use and intuitive.
  • Excellent kiosk integration with convenient cash/coin deposits.
  • Expanded crypto features in one app (wallet, exchange, CINQ card).
  • Quick signup and handy kiosk finder.
  • Positive experiences moving money to a digital wallet.
Cons
  • Frequent bugs and reliability issues (sign-in loops, QR code scan issues).
  • Funds getting stuck or deposits/withdrawals not credited, with long refund times.
  • High and sometimes opaque fees.
  • Poor, slow, or unhelpful customer service.
  • Identity verification problems that lock accounts.

Used Coinstar for years and I’ve had nothing but issues trying to get gift cards. I’ve gone to 5 different places in my town and after $31 it rejects all my coins back. I’ve called the company countless times and still having issues. Then they tell me they stopped doing gift cards and to get this app that won’t verify to create. I feel they don’t take care of their equipment or their customers
