User Reviews

Users praise Folderly for its aesthetics, ease of use, and strong organizational features (calendars, folders, to-do, and file uploads) with a free, ad-free experience. However, recurring complaints center on stability issues and crashes, disruptive pricing changes that gate features behind subscriptions, limits on the number of courses/folders, and data syncing losses after updates. Overall sentiment is positive when it works, but performance and pricing practices drive frequent friction.
Pros
  • Aesthetically pleasing and visually appealing UI.
  • Easy to use and intuitive navigation.
  • Strong, comprehensive organization features (class folders, calendar, schedule, to-do, file uploads, and ID cards).
  • Free to use with no ads and optional paid add-ons.
  • Customizable and flexible across elements.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and stability issues (login, updates, and temporary unusability).
  • Pricing shifts: removal of lifetime purchases, new subscription pressure, and paying again for features already owned.
  • Limitations on courses/folders (e.g., only 3 courses/folders unless paying premium).
  • Data loss after updates and syncing problems across devices (Folderly+ syncing) and occasional data access issues.

This app is really cute and helps me stay organized for school! I love the cute ID cards, the confetti with the todo, and the widgets —it really helps me to stay organized. The major downside however is the paywall now. I have about 8-9 classes but without paying, you can only add 3 courses. It sucks because this app was really useful when there wasn’t a paywall, but there is now which I think is what brings it down.

This used to be my favorite app for tracking, until today. I noticed whenever I tried adding another course after only having 2 I somehow reached my limit? I understand if it was the fact I had 2 schedules for those 2 classes but I used to be able to have all my 7 classes with no problem. It’s kind of sad seeing this app fall money hungry.
