User Reviews

Users praise the DNT app for strong hardware integration and features like the ballistic calculator and sight viewing, but report widespread reliability issues. The most frequent problems are connectivity and pairing failures (WiFi/Bluetooth), especially on iPads/tablets, plus laggy performance and slow live view after updates. On the plus side, the ballistic calculator, customizable data views, and rangefinding/thermal features are well-received. Support experiences vary. Overall, hardware quality and feature richness are strong, but app reliability and onboarding need significant improvement.
Pros
  • Ballistic calculator is excellent with easy data entry and customizable data views.
  • App allows viewing the sights for training/learning, which helps newcomers.
  • Strong hardware integration with rangefinder and night-vision/thermal capabilities that complement the optics and software.
  • Support can be helpful for connectivity issues in some cases.
Cons
  • Frequent connectivity and pairing problems via WiFi/Bluetooth; setup often requires workarounds or fails to connect.
  • Compatibility issues on tablets/iPad; not working reliably on tablets.
  • Laggy performance and slower live view after updates; trouble downloading videos.
  • Onboarding issues: prompts to enable Bluetooth or airplane mode and difficulty adding devices.
  • Support experiences are inconsistent, ranging from unhelpful to helpful.

I’ve tried everything I’m using an iPhone 16 and an iPad. No amount of troubleshooting has helped

App is laggy and really of no help. Have tried speaking to the team at dnt about multiple different things with feedback and Suggestions on a few things that would make the scope and app more user friendly. Such as being able to control the scope from the app etc. a white phosphorus setting for nv. And a bunch of other things. Even asked if I could test products for them and make content with reviews and how tos but they didn’t even bother or seem to care. I guess paying 1500$ for a scope they could care less once moneys swapped hands

The only way pairing works with my phone is to put it in Airplane Mode and then enable WiFi. It will then find the Zulu 520R V2 and pair. It will not pair if cellular service or Bluetooth are enabled. This is pretty primitive functionality in what should be a modern App.
