I love the idea of supporting a local ride hailing service. But the service only works if there are drivers available. In my experience that isn’t the case. And since I need to load funds into their app to even search for a ride, well..it almost seems like a scam.

I had an issue with VI Hail where I had funds on the app and requested a refund when I no longer needed to use the app because we were leaving. I was told the refund was processed, but I never received it in my bank account. After multiple attempts to resolve it with support and being provided a trace number that my bank could not locate, I had to dispute the charge through my bank. The dispute was ultimately approved. That said, the app itself was very reliable for finding rides in the Virgin Islands, where transportation can be limited and it was helpful in getting around. I’m sharing this so others are aware to be careful when adding funds or relying on refunds through this app. Make sure you follow up closely and keep records of everything.
