SMELLiT

SMELLiT is a research app for the D2Smell collaboration, an ERC-funded project studying how people experience smells in everyday environments—not just in laboratories. Four times a day, at random moments, you’ll answer questions about what you smell, where you are, and how long the scent has been present. You can also share a photo and describe the smell in your own words.

Complete the study’s 40 questionnaires to contribute valuable data to human olfaction research. Participants can receive an emailed gift voucher, including a bonus for completing all questionnaires, or waive payment to support the science. After participating, you’ll receive a personalized portfolio showing how your “nose type” compares with others. SMELLiT is available in 13 languages, including Arabic, Danish, English, French, German, Hebrew, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish.
