WRL has a lot going for it. It’s modern, polished, and much closer than QRZ to the kind of all-in-one ham radio platform I actually wanna use. But for portable operators, the experience still feels unnecessarily locked down. Off-line functionality is significantly limited, and while that’s apparently being improved, imported QSO’s still don’t receive full award credit unless they pass through an external service like QRZ or LoTW. I genuinely don’t understand why routing user submitted contacts through an older (and incredibly frustrating) third-party service somehow makes them more legitimate than importing the ADIF directly from a separate app. It honestly feels less like verification, and more like ecosystem lock-in. Especially when WRL‘s own off-line limitations are the reason I’m using another logger in the first place. I’m a portable operator, so I’m willing to give WRL time to mature. It’s clearly moving in a good direction and when it gets there I’m planning to become a lifetime member. But right now, the combination of missing field features and policies that penalize people for using a better suited field logger makes the platform frustratingly difficult to support. Great concept, fun app if you’re a ham glued to your home QTH and hate touching grass.

Love this app feature rich made for Pota, ham shack and anywhere else you want it. Maps are AWESOME ! Logging offline online both nothing to worry about on the operator’s part. Get it play radio export adif all simple and easy!
