Learn to Talk - The Series
At the heart of the app is our brand new Learn to Talk series, featuring 25 episodes each covering a different preschool theme. Over 200 key first words span the full range, from action words and mealtimes to colours, emotions, transport and more. The series builds on our original Learn to Talk DVD, which was created with Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist Gillian Hart, and has helped children worldwide say their first words.
Baby Sign Language
Baby signing is woven naturally throughout the series, giving children a way to communicate before they can speak. This reduces frustration, builds confidence, and supports speech development alongside words rather than instead of them.
Hundreds of Preschool Videos Including:
- Funky the Green Teddy Bear
- Sounds for Kids
- Nursery Rhymes
- Fairy Tales
- Classical Baby
- Jazz Baby
- The Music Man
- Preschool Compilations
- 200+ Baby Signs
- And lots more
Interactive Games That Build Language
Our interactive games turn language learning into play. Flash card games offer two learning modes, matching spoken words or sounds to images, so children build vocabulary through listening and recognition. The 100 First Words Sound Board lets children touch an image and hear the word, exploring first words at their own pace.
FAQ
How is Learn to Talk different from other children's apps?
Learn to Talk entertains and teaches at the same time. Every video is slower paced and more considered than typical children's content, built around the techniques that help children recognise, remember and say their first words. Key vocabulary repeats across episodes, baby sign language is woven throughout, and uniquely, it supports you alongside your child, with a complete 30-week email course and 8 premium PDF guides.
Is Learn to Talk suitable for speech-delayed children?
While originally designed for babies and toddlers learning their first words, Learn to Talk has also been used extensively by parents of children with speech delays. Our multi-sensory approach, combining video, sound, repetition and baby sign language, supports children at various stages of speech development.
Does the app replace speech therapy?
Learn to Talk supports speech development at home but is not a replacement for professional speech therapy. If you have concerns about your child's speech, we always recommend consulting a speech and language therapist. The app works well alongside professional support.
