friendOS — a private app for close friends

We’re a bunch of friends who just wanted a simple way to see what our people are up to. So we built friendOS, a private app where our friends’ activities just show up. We’re making it available for our friends to download, and now you too can join and add your own close friends.

friendOS sits between our group chats and social apps.

The idea is really simple. The app uses location and a few extra permissions to automatically create status for activities like wakeups, places we go, travels, fitness sessions, daily 10k steps, and other simple daily moments we all like to know about our friends.

What it does • Shows what our friends are up to • Lets you record frontback videos • Keeps everything private to the people we add • React, comment, send hugs • Go invisible anytime

User Reviews

I really like this app. One of the things I dislike about it is when I first installed the app, my friends and I could spam the hugs feature and the person receiving the hug would get multiple notifications. Now, no matter how many times you tap the Hugs feature, they only get one notification.

I love the concept of FriendOS! I’m excited to see what this builds into.
