I have very limited musical education - a few guitar lessons growing up and played violin in my middle school orchestra. I picked up Harmoniq and now that I have started to actually improve, I have been surprised at the impact in my daily life. I randomly transcribed a part of a song from memory after recognizing its pitch in a riff I was playing. I can hit the first vocal note of my favorite songs without having to hear the instruments to remind me of the pitch. I am still far from perfect (pitch, hah) with a 31% in the app. I felt as though I was plateauing - especially once the mastery lessons showed up - but it has helped a ton to change the keyboard and disable the note coloring so I have very few mental “tricks” to fall back on. I recommend if you give this app a try to really treat it like music class - sometimes the lessons are frustrating and its easy to want to find shortcuts to the right answer. Take frequent breaks and try to listen to that new itch in your brain! It really is a whole new muscle.
