Features & Capabilities

Brailliance is a word-puzzle game where you deduce the target word by matching the total number of braille dots for each guess. Dots add up to a hidden sum; letters that are part of the answer turn green and trigger a chime. You can play with unlimited guesses and access a built-in interactive tutorial. The game is crafted to be playable by everyone, with features that support screen readers and multiple input methods, including keyboards and accessibility shortcuts.

Themis Games is dedicated to disability-friendly game design. Please refer to the game manual for details about screen readers and input devices. Tips include prioritizing dot totals, swapping letters by dot counts, using grayed-out letters to prune options, and enjoying unlimited attempts since there’s no penalty for wrong guesses. Start Here from the main menu launches the tutorial to get you going.

This Is excellent! Fun! The only things I I've noticed is that whenever the first letter is pressed, it takes a while for the system to catch up. I do this on a braille display and scroll to the letter, and once a letter is pressed, if I try scrolling to either side, it doesn't work, there's a significant delay. This is also the case with direct screen touch. Another issue I've noticed, is despite it saying there's a native keyboard to type the guess, while I can type in the word, it doesn't seem to register and I end up having to use the keyboard and scrolling to each letter, which is tedious, as I'm a proficient braille user.

You’re claiming that this app functions well with accessibility features, but that is not entirely true. When voiceover is activated, there are important features in this app that cannot be accessed and voiceover needs to be turned off in order to access them. This doesn’t make sense particularly for an app that could be used by many visually impaired people. Please look into this. An example would be the lightbulb for hints cannot be accessed when voiceover is on. It’s counter effective to have someone who’s visually impaired having to turn voiceover off. If this is the case, then there’s no point in playing the game. Thank you for your consideration.
