User Reviews

DocUpdate is praised for being easy, free, and convenient for on-the-go prescribing, letting prescribers send scripts to pharmacies quickly and manage patient lists. Users like the lack of cost and the ability to avoid phone calls, plus features like saved med lists and easy access to patient histories. However, several recurring issues hold it back: identity verification/login problems and weak support; an unfriendly UI; delays in script transmission to pharmacies; limitations on prescribing certain meds and workflow annoyances; and privacy/data concerns alongside limited customer support.
Pros
  • Easy to use and convenient for on-the-go prescribing
  • Free to prescribers
  • Speeds up prescription workflow by sending scripts to pharmacies without calling
  • Secure prescribing and keeps patient histories/med lists organized
  • Good for managing saved meds and tracking pharmacies
Cons
  • Identity verification/login problems and weak support
  • Unfriendly, difficult-to-navigate UI
  • Delays in scripts reaching pharmacies and occasional transmission issues
  • Limitations on prescribing certain meds (e.g., scheduled meds) and renewal friction
  • Privacy/data concerns and lack of accessible customer support

This app is a fine addition to enhance communication with the pharmacy. It is accepted and accurate.

I have had DocUpdate since before the name change, and to be honest, it was pretty terrible at first. Hit and miss with pharmacy’s receiving scripts. Now though, whatever they have done, I am no longer having that issue, and it is pretty fast, within about 15-30 min. Such a great alternative! Last I checked I still couldn’t prescribe scheduled meds on this app, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars. With our state now requiring no written (paper) scripts, this is an awesome alternative. I believe the last pharmacist I spoke to said it is an E-Fax service, but that may have also changed! Keep up the good work!!
