Features & Capabilities

Facial Recognition is an AI-powered tool that lets you search a person’s online footprint from a single photo. It enables identity verification across social media, blogs, videos, and news, with broad coverage of over a billion indexed faces.

Use responsibly and legally. The extension relies on a third-party service (FaceCheck.ID) for image search; review the privacy policy and terms, and respect others’ privacy and platform rules.

User Reviews

The reviews largely condemn the app as overpriced and deceptive, with paid search credits and a hidden paywall instead of truly free use. Users report unreliable results, frequent inaccuracies, and failures to locate even well-known profiles. Technical issues like crashes and missing history further erode trust. A minority praise the concept or occasional usefulness, and a few say it can help detect catfishing when it works. A notable portion accuses the developer of unprofessional responses and review manipulation. Overall, the app is seen as inconsistent, overpriced, and poorly supported.
Pros
  • Some users report the app is useful and praise it when it works (Very nice; Nice work, I love it; Amazing).
  • A few reviewers say it can help verify identity or detect catfishing.
  • Several reviews acknowledge the concept and potential usefulness of an image-based lookup app.
Cons
  • Hidden paywalls and deceptive pricing: free onboarding is limited and searches require coins/credits or a paid subscription.
  • Inaccurate or unreliable results: users report not finding matches, results that look nothing like real people, and results disappearing after viewing.
  • Frequent crashes and instability: the app crashes during use and does not consistently save or show history.
  • Perceived dishonest behavior by developers and unprofessional responses, including accusations of fake or bot-like reviews.

The app itself is dishonest in the fact it's "free" and allows you to go through the entire process only to be hit with subscription paywalls for seemingly free features. Beyond this, the Developer(s) replying to negative reviews are blatantly unprofessional (deflection, name calling, the works...). Further on the note of dishonesty, they say the searches cost money and I'm sure they do, so why aren't there ads for a free version and an ad-less subscription? Surely if the engine is worth using, you can afford enough space for advertisements to pay the cost of operation and ownership. Once again continuing with dishonesty, most if not all of the positive reviews seem to be a form of bot reviews (SculptorSteve review from 1y ago being obviously exactly what they want written, and how they want their replies perceived.) I mean seriously, sort by recent reviews and it's obvious. The Dev also hides behind the "lots of good reviews" he has like it negates genuine criticism because they can afford not to care. Signature marks of the world's biggest waste of money and time. Do yourself a favor and avoid this scam.
