Harari Word Translate (HWT) is a community-focused translation and language-learning app connecting Harari, English, Amharic, and Afaan Oromo.

Built with the Harari community and diaspora in mind, HWT makes it easier to search, translate, read, hear, save, and share thousands of words and phrases across four languages.

Diaspora-friendly search

You don't need an Ethiopic keyboard to search Harari or Amharic. Type using familiar Latin letters, and HWT helps find matching words in the Ethiopic script. Users who prefer an Ethiopic keyboard can continue searching that way too.

Preserving language and connecting generations
