User Reviews

RealLives Sim is educational and thought-provoking, using real-world data to illustrate how life outcomes vary by country and privilege. Reviewers praise its concept and potential for deeper gameplay, but point to monetization and access barriers, limited life-path variety, demo progression issues, and balance bugs that hinder play. It shows promise but needs improvements in access, content depth, and stability.
Pros
  • Educational and thought-provoking, using real-world data to illustrate life outcomes and privilege across countries.
  • Fun and engaging while delivering educational value.
  • Strong concept with potential for deeper, more diverse gameplay and improvements.
Cons
  • Monetization gating and purchase issues: a subscription/license is required to play in some cases, with related purchase errors.
  • Limited content and replay value due to a lack of diverse starting life paths; requests for elite/royal roles and more scenarios.
  • Demo limitations and progression blockers: limitations in the trial/demo prevent continued play.
  • Balance and event inconsistencies/bugs: some events do not trigger expected consequences or behave oddly.

RealLives is an interesting and educational life simulation, especially with how it uses real-world data to show how different lives unfold across countries. It definitely makes you think about privilege, access, and opportunity. However, the experience feels limited in some ways. There’s no option to be born into royalty or royal families, even in countries where monarchies still exist. I get that the game aims for realism, but removing entire high-status life paths makes some playthroughs feel repetitive and less immersive. It’s a good concept with potential, but adding more diverse starting scenarios—especially elite or historical power roles—would improve replay value.

This seems like it would be a great game, lots of information. But I was immediately killed in the demo game, as a stillborn and then wasn’t given anymore demo attempts, this kinda ruined it for me :/
