Features & Capabilities

Save Frame is the pro-level frame extractor that pulls pixel-perfect, full HDR stills from your videos.

Why Save Frame?

• Richer than screenshots: Capture beautiful, full-color HDR photos that retain the video's original dynamic range. • No Photo Library access needed: Select files directly to extract frames without granting full library permission. • Pro-level metadata: Unlike screenshots, exported photos keep their original creation date, lens and GPS location data. • Batch workflows: Bulk extract multiple frames at once and track your progress automatically so you never export the same clip twice. • Format control: Export in HEIC, AVIF, or JPEG with adjustable quality settings. • Frame-accurate viewing: Scrub through footage step-by-step to capture the exact moment. • 100% on-device: All processing happens on your phone. Your media never leaves your device.

Works as intended plus đź’Ż free & no ads

I was using a different app which I think is the original. Then I came across this one on a Reddit post. I love that I can get an HDR screenshot and I’m using this to take a dual capture video and make it into a photo. Note: I was hoping for integration with shortcuts, but couldn’t figure that out and it seems like it’s not available on the share sheet either. In app works great - clean, simple, quick.

It supports HDR, has heaps of settings, is very intuitive and minimal and native, and is totally free. Goated devs, would donate a dollar if I could find a way to do it.
