User Reviews

Reviewers praise Reeder for its beautiful design and feature-rich ecosystem, plus solid cross-device syncing and reasonable pricing. However, recurring issues include no read/unread controls, bugs and slow updates, a cluttered UI, and weak keyboard navigation. Some requests focus on missing features like endless scrolling, dark mode, and offline podcasts. Overall, it’s a powerful RSS tool that delights some users but struggles with reliability and UX aspects for others.
Pros
  • Beautiful, polished design/UI.
  • Rich feature set including newsletters, podcasts, YouTube, and social feeds.
  • Reliable cross-device syncing with seamless resume across devices.
  • Value for price: subscription is considered reasonable and worth it by several users.
Cons
  • Cannot mark articles as read or track read status; unread filtering missing.
  • Bugs and stability issues with inconsistent performance and slow updates.
  • UI is cluttered and not easily customizable; visuals can hinder readability.
  • Weak keyboard navigation and learning curve; frustrated by changes to shortcuts and navigation flow.
  • Missing commonly requested features (endless scrolling; dark mode in article view; offline podcast support).
Recent reviews
Originally Reeder allowed each feed to be viewed independently. I prefer that approach because I like scanning articles within a context rather than the firehose of everything all at once. Over time Reeder has shifted to a preference of the timeline view of intermingled feeds. But I could always find a way to view each feed’s timeline in isolation. Recently that has been taken away and there is only the combined feed timeline. Not for me. I’m switching to NetNewsWire. Choices are good and I’m glad we have them.

You should get it. I really dig this app. About the only thing I wish they’d add is the ability to reorder our collections in the sidebar.

Buttery smooth like Reeder Classic, but extremely limited in UI customization and features. I can’t use the app like this. I need more basic customization options and basic features.
