User Reviews

Overall, reviewers praise QuivAR for its innovative concept and training value, especially for beginners, and its social/competitive use. The main recurring drawbacks are UI/visual reliability: vitals overlays and X-ray visuals can obscure the shot and misalign when moving. Some users also want more organ visualization and sharing features. Despite these issues, there is strong enthusiasm and demand for improvements in accuracy and UX.
Pros
  • Innovative concept with the potential to revolutionize archery training.
  • Effective training tool that helps with shot placement and ethical hunting skills; beginner-friendly.
  • Great for social/backyard practice and friendly competitions with scoring.
Cons
  • Overlay and alignment issues (vitals and X-ray visuals) can obscure arrows and drift/move off target, reducing accuracy.

Love the concept and app. Think it’s a great way to sharpen ethical hunting skills by being able to practice angled shots. My only recommendation for the developers would be to maybe outline the far side lung to be able to see if you had a single or double lung shot without guessing.

I bought a delta McKenzie big daddy buck target for Labor Day. I’ve gotten out to shoot it a few times now and while the app is a great idea it needs work. Once you shoot the target, open the app and scan the QR it shows the X-ray, but it isn’t always placed correctly in the target and floats around when you move your phone, including moving the X-ray completely out of the target. Another problem I have with the app is the vitals are like stickers that are placed over your cameras image, which means it hides your arrows so you can’t see where you’re shot really is while using the different layers. A 3rd thing I noticed that just may be me not using the app as intended is that there’s no photo or video options. Thinking it would be cool to show off on social media, I attempted to scan the app, use the iPhone screen record function, walk away from the target with the phone attached to my bow to record the shot and be able to see where I hit from a distance. It did scale the vitals down to match the target but walking back to the target they were misplaced more than when you shoot first then scan the qr.
