User Reviews

Overall, users praise the app for accurate speeds and ease of use, with the challenge test feature seen as a plus. However, privacy and data collection concerns are the dominant negatives, as many reviews complain about login requirements, location access, and data sharing. Reliability issues, including crashes and poor performance in areas with weak signal, are also common. Several longtime users dislike the update that replaced the old version. In short: accuracy and usability are positives; privacy and stability are major drawbacks.
Pros
  • Accurate, reliable speed test results.
  • Easy to use and operate.
  • Helpful challenge test feature to verify carrier coverage claims and monitor network quality.
  • Quick check option that does not require personal data.
  • Privacy-focused improvements in recent updates.
Cons
  • Mandatory login and collection of personal data/location, raising privacy concerns.
  • Perceived data collection and sharing of personal information; unneeded permissions.
  • Bugs, crashes, and reliability issues, including tests failing or the app not connecting.
  • Poor performance in areas with little or no cellular service, making tests difficult or impossible.
  • Frustration with updating from the old version; many users prefer the old app and view the new version as junk.

Challenged T-Mobile last 03 years with no results from the fcc Test is not accurate compared to Ookla speed test. T-Mobile is fraudulent claiming service exists in areas where the signal is intermittent at best and mostly SOS.

Like the old version better, didn't require name, email and other personal informational. The way they keep and store data is questionable at best.
