User Reviews

Users praise the Definitive Edition for its console-like visuals, smooth animations, and solid missions, but report persistent performance and reliability problems: lag, 30fps cap, crashes, blurry textures, and overheating on some devices. Sound can be completely missing on some devices. Cloud saves and cross-device progress transfer are absent, causing data loss and frustration; many call for cloud saves and a Rockstar Social Club login. Some instances of incompatibility with certain iPhone models. Overall, the experience is enjoyable but hampered by technical issues and missing features.
Pros
  • High-quality visuals close to console/PC with realistic graphics
  • Missions feel faithful to the original and animations are well done
  • Overall enjoyable experience with improvements over the standard version
Cons
  • Performance issues including lag, 30fps cap, crashes and blurry textures (and occasional overheating)
  • Sound sometimes not working on certain devices
  • Lack of cloud saves / cross-device progress and data transfer, prompting calls for cloud saves and Rockstar Social Club login
  • Compatibility issues on some iPhone models and general reliability concerns

Love this game. “Upgraded” to this version, but everything is hard to see. On recommended settings graphics are blurry and color grading and shadows makes it hard to see everything. I could barely see the bike at the start of the game. It blended into the blurry fence. On highest settings game is better, but the small control buttons and shading still makes it much harder to see things in the game. This distracts from the joy of playing the game. Ended up going back to original version and am now enjoying the game again.
