Features & Capabilities

Breaths Per Minute is a real-time respiratory rate tracker for pets and people. Tap the screen to count breaths; the app calculates the rate automatically, uses a built-in timer for accuracy, and saves every measurement for review. Pro features add multiple profiles, CSV export, and full backup/restore across devices. The app is localized in English, Russian, German, and Spanish.

Why it matters: monitoring resting respiratory rate helps detect conditions such as heart issues, asthma, and fever in dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, babies, and adults. You can name measurements with an emoji, add notes, and export a clean PDF with a trend chart. Pro unlocks multi-profile use, CSV export, and JSON backups. This is an observation tool, not a medical device; consult a professional for health decisions.

User Reviews

Thank you for this app. Wish I could buy something to support it! My sweet cat was diagnosed with asthma and I use this app multiple times a day to track her respiratory rate.

Used it for my cat’s breaths per minute. The settings were a little confusing but I just used it as is and matched what I got doing it “by hand”

This respiratory rate measurement tool is flawed. I noticed that there is a stop measurement option for either manual or auto or manual. This is very confusing to me. I do understand the manual only. However, the auto only is not indicated as an option. I do believe that it would be much better if once the person has completed the assessment that some kind of an alarm goes off or the measurement just stops automatically on its own, I can tell you that I am not a well person so I will kind of doze off. That’s just my normal behavior so this tool, this instrument does not work for me because I may have my eyes closed the entire time that my respiratory rate is being measured. So this tool does not work for me sorry.
