Users praise the app as an all-in-one hub for UniFi store, community, and specs, with quick references and release-tracking. Pros

All-in-one access to store, community, and product specs in a single app.
Quick reference for items, costs, and specs, plus the ability to experiment with virtual APs.
Positive update: the new app version replacement works well so far.
In-app release/status visibility (Release Candidate vs Official) helps track updates.
Community tab has native integration and is useful.

Cons

AR features do not work or are not available; AR is hidden or moved to Portal.
No dark mode; app is bright and reading in bed is difficult.
Messy, illogical UI/UX and navigation; hard to switch between sections; returns to home; endless loading.
In-app purchasing problems; CC autofill issues; cart resets or redirects to web store.
Stability issues; crashes on startup and appears abandoned with slow loading.

Recent reviews

Scanning a building seems to work with the LiDAR, but can’t export to design center. I get a blank screen with an “Export” button that can’t be clicked. Why is the app also a forum and a browser redirect?

The app does not work as intended. The 3D scan feature actually does work, but it is impossible to actually build a system and apply it to the floor plan you upload. In fact, the “default” system, despite clicking “remove all devices”, keeps showing up any time you leave the app and come back. The app does not save the items I choose, and when I do choose something (like a gateway and a switch) it remains “outside” my “rack”. You can choose all day, and it will list what you’ve chosen, but I assume because it doesn’t get added to the “rack” may be why you cannot add the system to your uploaded floor plan. The uploaded floor plan does not show up in the design center on the website either. It’s just a bad app. I hope the equipment works better than this!!
