synapseRx

synapseRx is a tool that was developed by Prescribers for Prescribers. A medication error can be defined as an unwanted event that may lead to inappropriate use of medications and potentially be harmful to the patients.

Although medication errors occur at different stages such as writing, transcribing, and administration, illegible handwriting appears to be the predominant cause of these errors.

synapseRx was designed to primarily solve the problem of illegible prescription and also remove medication errors associated with writing and transcribing prescriptions.

synapseRx was developed to good prescribing habits for prescribers. It allows prescribers to have permitted access to patient medication history as well as issue out prescriptions that are properly formatted to avoid any errors at the point of dispensing the medications.

synapseRx provides convenience to the prescriber by allowing them to prescribe to their patient from anywhere in the world with the need to issue paper prescriptions. Prescription and laboratory requests written using synapseRx can be sent to the patient via email and any of the common social messaging systems currently available such WhatsApp, Telegram etc.

synapseRx has a base drug formulary which consists of the current NHIS drugs. The list will be regularly updated with only drugs and devices that have been approved and licensed by the Ghanaian Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).
