User Reviews

Users praise the app for bite-sized, level-appropriate stories, built-in dictionary with pronunciation, helpful audio, and strong quizzes plus grammar tools. It offers a comprehensive, all-in-one learning experience. Major drawbacks are a steep, restrictive free tier and high subscription cost, limited advanced content, occasional bugs, and some UX confusion around tools. If you can subscribe, it’s a solid immersive learning option; otherwise depth and stability could be improved.
Pros
  • Bite-sized, level-appropriate stories/articles that are engaging and easy to digest.
  • Built-in dictionary/translation with quick lookups and pronunciation.
  • Audio narration included, enabling listening while reading.
  • Quizzes after each story to reinforce comprehension.
  • Comprehensive feature set (grammar breakdowns, conjugation explanations, spaced repetition, study cards) for an all-in-one learning experience.
Cons
  • Free version is highly limited and there is a costly paywall (about $70/year) with only a few articles per day.
  • Not enough advanced content; insufficient higher-level material for more proficient learners.
  • Occasional reliability issues and glitches; the app can fail to load or work properly at times.
  • Some usability/clarity issues with vocab tools and navigation.

This app has a lot of potential but everything is super limited if you’re using the free version. The 5ish stories you get per day are 3/4 A1 level, which makes it hard for me to find challenging texts since I read at a more advanced level. The content in each story is very surface-level and doesn’t go in-depth into anything interesting. One story’s content didn’t even answer the question in the title. It’s a cool concept but I’d love to see more work put into providing more options for advanced levels in the daily content, and being able to read more than just a paragraph per story.

This app offers stories based on your Spanish level with useful features like a built in dictionary and text reader. It’s good for bite-sized Spanish content. However, the cost of this subscription is $70 a year, which is up to the user to determine if it is worth it. For me, it is highly overpriced. There is a free version, but it only offers 5 “articles” a day. Sometimes these articles can be as short as a few sentences in A1 Spanish. My advice is unless you’re willing to pay the $70 per year to read the articles, I’d look somewhere else for news stories. You could get more from other free apps.
