I recently had a VO₂ max test performed using PNOE equipment and was extremely disappointed with the experience—not because of the test itself, but because of what happened afterward. I requested my raw test data so I could review it myself and, if necessary, provide it to a physician or other qualified professional for further evaluation. I was told that PNOE has a company policy preventing them from providing the raw data to the person who paid for and underwent the test. I found this incredibly frustrating and difficult to understand. If I pay for a physiological test performed on my own body, I believe I should have reasonable access to the underlying information collected during that test. At the very least, I should be able to obtain the data if I want to have it reviewed by a doctor or another qualified professional. The staff I dealt with were polite and professional, so my frustration isn’t directed at them personally. My issue is with the policy itself and the lack of transparency surrounding it. For a recreational athlete, this may not be a major concern. But for competitive and especially elite athletes who rely heavily on detailed physiological data to monitor performance, investigate changes in fitness, or work with physicians and performance specialists, I think access to the underlying data is extremely important. Based on this experience, I would be very hesitant to recommend working directly with PNOE unless you first confirm exactly what data you will receive from your test. The testing itself may be useful, but restricting access to the data collected from your own assessment is, in my opinion, a significant drawback.

All I want to do is download my results in a PDF. It’s clearly in a pdf format already, but the app won’t let you download it. Instead you have to wait a minute for it to load every time, and then read it in a tiny window that doesn’t utilize the whole screen.
