Features & Capabilities

TechDisc brings a complete disc-golf analytics system to your game. Hardware sensors attached to the center of a disc transmit spin, speed, nose angle, hyzer angle, launch angle, and wobble to the app, where cloud-based analysis determines throw type (Backhand, Forehand, Thumber, etc.) and shot angles.

Measure and compare your drives, upshots, standstills, hyzers, and rollers over time. See average spin for forehand versus backhand, check consistency, and filter throws by type and angle to target improvements. User Reviews

TechDisc offers rich, immediate throw data and an intuitive interface that many users praise for training and progress. Pros include accurate metrics, easy use, auto video capture, and responsive support. However, reviewers repeatedly cite simulator limitations on iOS and a subscription-based model restricting access, along with connection stability issues and a lack of in-app guidance for beginners. Despite strong data and feedback, platform integration and onboarding gaps remain the main drawbacks.
Pros
  • Immediate, accurate throw metrics with many data points per throw; great for training.
  • Easy-to-use interface with clear data presentation; auto video capture is a plus.
  • Metrics help users see progress and can improve throwing distance.
  • Responsive customer support and proactive developer engagement.
Cons
  • Simulator not integrated in the iOS app; currently web-based and occasionally unreliable or requires resets.
  • Price and subscription model; features behind a subscription with requests for a free trial or lower cost.
  • Connectivity and stability issues; occasional crashes and difficult linking.
  • In-app knowledge base or quick explanations for metrics is lacking; onboarding for newcomers is hard.
  • Minor UI/UX quirks (e.g., connect button interfering with iOS UI).

I finally bought a TechDisc. Should have done this a year ago. I’m 65 and didn’t start playing until I was 60. I’ve increased my arm speed by 10 MPH in less than a week. I’m up over 55 MPH now and still climbing. I’m throwing 350+ and beat my friends that are 10 years younger than me. Can’t wait to break 400 feet! Thank you TechDisc!

The TechDiscs are outstanding products for improving your game. I threw mine 7000+ times in 2025 - every shot in my game has improved. The app is equally excellent - the telemetry alone is invaluable. The video feature, with auto slow-mo in the power pocket, is incredibly useful for debugging your form. Company continues to innovate their software and provides great support when things go wrong.

The connect button needs more padding from the bottom. It is consistently difficult to select throws because of the placement of the connect button and the iOS action bar at the bottom.
