User Reviews

User reviews show a promising concept for meal planning and pantry-based recipe generation, but the app struggles with reliability, price, and usability. Frequent crashes and paywall pressure dampen value, while the pantry and dietary-restriction features are hard to use or not well aligned with user needs. Free-tier limitations and overall performance issues further reduce satisfaction, despite the strong idea and potential utility for last-minute meals.
Pros
  • Strong concept for meal planning and generating recipes from pantry ingredients.
  • Promising recipe discovery approach that could help with last‑minute dinners.
  • Some reviewers view the app as a decent option with potential and an idea that could be useful.
Cons
  • Aggressive monetization with frequent upsells, high annual price, and unclear free tier.
  • Frequent crashes and generic errors ('something went wrong'), making it unreliable.
  • Pantry/ingredient management is not user-friendly (complex to add items, barcode scanning barrier, and limited pantry capacity).
  • Dietary restrictions are not properly accounted in recipes or the discovery feature (common allergens like shellfish/dairy appear in recipes).
  • Long recipe loading times and other performance issues.

This was great in theory but the app opened once for me. Only the first time.

Was looking for something I could put in ingredients I have around the house. Rather then letting my try it out, it asked for all kinds of personal info. I didn’t care but then before I can even see what the app do it starts pushing memberships on me. Every time I said no it kept bringing up stupid roulette wheels bringing the price down further. In 5 seconds the price went from $80 a year or something to $20. I noped out of there. If something won’t stand by the value of their product, they’re probably gouging you knowing their product is garbage. Stay away everyone.

Not a bad app. Some improvements in the adding ingredients functionality would be great though. Now, they need to think about a free tier or longer trial period, especially with that yearly price point. Ideally a freemium approach. There are similar apps that are as food as this one and have freemium models. In fact I built a GPT wrapper myself that does the same. It is not a phone app though as I do enterprise software not apps. But people can vibecode something similar easily and offer it for 29.99 a year. Now I realize that is a European app. I never see one that knows how to monetize. High prices and few users. Volume and low price my friends. It is not even a new model. It is the only thing that works in an almost free world.
