ScotRail Tap and Pay

ScotRail Tap and Pay is a Chrome extension that lets you generate a barcode before boarding. The barcode lets you pass through station gates, with an onboard team member scanning it as your ticket.

When your journey is complete, Tap and Pay automatically calculates the best value fare for your trip—Singles to Day Returns across Peak and Off-Peak periods—and applies weekly capping. The final fare is then deducted from your Tap and Pay account.
