Review summary

Instant Armory is praised for its export feature, intuitive UI, and wide creative freedom to produce weapons and items with strong visuals. It’s appreciated as ad-free with free content plus DLC that expands options. However, reviews frequently cite paywalls and DLC gating, with some calling the price too high. Stability is an issue, with crashes during item creation, and the coin system is slow, making paid content feel necessary for progression. Many users still want more free content and additional item types (e.g., crossbows, bard instruments).
Pros
  • Export feature allows easy drag-and-drop export to design software for printing and sleeves.
  • Intuitive, user-friendly UI with broad customization and creative freedom.
  • High-quality visuals and appealing art style.
  • No ads and free content plus DLC expansions; ongoing value.
  • Versatility to create a wide range of weapons, armor, and magical items for campaigns.
Cons
  • Paywall and DLC gating; many feel the pricing is too high or not worth it for what’s available without paying.
  • Frequent crashes or stability issues during item creation.
  • Slow in-app coin economy; limited ways to earn coins, making paid content feel necessary.
  • Content gaps/feature requests (e.g., crossbows, bard instruments, more armor variants).
  • Some users view the paid content as not meaningfully adding value.

2026-05-21 Sc***** This app makes me feel like a real artist, and maybe even a bit like a real blacksmith, tailor, luthier, and jeweler! It’s so fun to just sit and design items, and even more fun when your DM incorporates them into your game. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who likes designing and customizing, whether or not you even RPG (but of course you do).

2026-05-18 Sh***** Love this game it’s so fun to customize one thing I wish they added was more shields there’s no bone magic or metal options just wood and the rims are solely dependent on the shape of the shield why not make them both separate?

2026-04-09 No***** I was originally looking for DnD cards online with minimal stat blocks because I am running an Advanced Tiny dungeon campaign and don’t need those. I found NOTHING that matched and was about to give up and DIY my own until I saw a post on Reddit recommending this app. I am so thankful I found this app. It has made my job significantly easier and my campaigns much more engaging. The export feature is perfect and allows me to drag them into my design software so I can easily print and sleeve them in little MTG sleeves. I cannot express how much time I save using this. It gives me much more time to print and paint miniatures, work on maps for my virtual tabletop and do storyboards for my campaign. I spent the $10 for DLC content and also a few other things in the shop because it is genuinely worth it and I want to support the devs so they can make more good stuff. As a personal request, please add crossbows soon devs!
