User Reviews

Users praise the app for free, mobile-accessible learning and beginner-friendly coding practice, but report repeated reliability issues: sign-in failures, crashes/spinning, white screens, video playback errors, and inconsistent progress tracking. Overall, high educational value and convenience are noted, but stability and reliability need substantial fixes.
Pros
  • Free and mobile-accessible learning resource, making coding education convenient on the go.
  • Helpful for beginners with a structured, hands-on coding experience and real editor to see your work.
  • App is viewed as a valuable, useful resource that compliments the FreeCodeCamp website.
Cons
  • Frequent sign-in problems and long loading times when signing in (Google, Apple, or email).
  • Crashes or freezes when submitting progress or checking off steps (spinning loader).
  • White screen / app not loading on startup on certain devices.
  • Video lessons frequently show errors or fail to play.
  • Progress tracking issues, including completed steps reverting and modules getting stuck.

I’m working through the python course, and the terminal does not actually show the output of the code when I run it. The app still verifies the code is correct and allows me to proceed, but I think it would be much better if I could see the actual output of the code in the terminal as I go. I’ll just use the desktop website until this error is resolved.

It is very cool and 100% helps but either it is very hard to find or it doesn’t have a playground for coding

As an older adult learning coding from the ground up this app definitely is helping me to understand the basics in an easy to understand format while providing an editor to see my work as I learn. Kudos to the FreeCodeCamp team for creating an app and complete program designed for those of us who learn by hands-on training and chunking. I truly enjoy the labs and workshops portion that brings the it all together.
