User Reviews

Users praise the app for easy access to road cameras, the ability to group/add cameras, and its winter-travel usefulness. It’s seen as better than TripCheck and is ad-free. However, reliability concerns persist due to malfunctioning feeds and slow updates, and access often requires paying for a premium tier. The UI can be clunky (no map layer; search-by-name workflow) and coverage is not always comprehensive. Overall, strong concept with valuable features, but reliability and access limitations reduce its effectiveness.
Pros
  • View and manage multiple road cameras (WebCams) in one app, with the ability to add specific cameras and group them.
  • Convenient for winter travel, helping to check road conditions, closures, and chain-law requirements quickly.
  • Customization features like grouping cameras and saving camera lists for routes.
  • Better than the official TripCheck site; easier to view cams.
  • Ad-free, simple and easy-to-use interface.
Cons
  • Cameras frequently don’t work or update slowly, making reliability a recurring issue.
  • Paywall to access Oregon DOT cameras—premium subscription required for viewing.
  • Clunky camera access UX: no map layer, you must search by camera name and coverage is inconsistent.
  • Some cameras/routes aren’t visible or accessible (limited coverage).

None of the cameras work. I’ve enabled 35. Only 2 work sometimes. The rest of them never. A real ripoff.

Doesn’t even show the 5” of snow on the pass… I’ll just stick with DOT website. Thanks for taking my money

If I don’t have to travel in hazardous conditions, I don’t. There are times I have to be in my office 30+ plus miles from home. I’ve used tripcheck for years. Thank you for creating the app.
