2025-09-24	Jo*****	SurTaal - Alankar is an extremely useful practice aid. I’m very happy I found it. There are a few things that would allow it to rise to the level of “great” that it lacks: 1. It should allow for editing, copying and deletion of custom and preset alankars. One should have control over the addition and deletion of rests 2. Overall pitch should be adjustable up or down in increments of cents 3. There should be a choice of various melodic instruments such as harmonium, bansuri, sarangi, etc. With these additions it would easily be a 5 star app in my opinion.
SurTaal - Alankar is an extremely useful practice aid. I’m very happy I found it. There are a few things that would allow it to rise to the level of “great” that it lacks: 1. 2025-06-02	HS*****	I really enjoy the features available when the app is open, especially being able to play the Raag with various adjustments. However, I’ve noticed a few issues. After locking the screen, the tabla often stops playing after a few seconds, and the string accompaniment may eventually turn off as well. Additionally, if I receive a call, the music stops and does not resume automatically afterward. For a paid version, this kind of behavior is unexpected. I hope the developers can address these bugs so we can enjoy the app to its full potential.

( In sep 2023 they said that they are already working on it, it been 9 months and still that is not added) Good to have features that will make this app best in market 1. Integrate vocal pitch monitor to app so see if we are hitting notes properly. There are already many apps that do this for free like Singscope, nail the pitch. 2. UI can be improved, the app only works in portrait mode. Ipad is mostly used in landscape mode and hence this is problematic. 3. Adding some more vocals for aakar, om etc 4. Some way to add ornamentations like meedh / vibrato when doing alankars 5. Options to have western notations too.
