Features & Capabilities

After God disappears, Heaven and Hell collide in an eternal war, and you, a descendant of Solomon, hold the power to end the strife. The devils of the Seven Deadly Sins and their vassals rule their own realms, while three Seraphim watch from above. Built on the Keys of Solomon, this tale of devils and angels hinges on who is crowned king to determine the fate of universes.

What in Hell is Bad? Origin features a fully voiced main story with a stellar voice cast, characters you can touch, scratch, and stroke, world-class illustrations, and over 100 stories and stages. It’s not scary—it's cute and adorable in battle visuals—and more stories and devils await as the saga unfolds.

User Reviews

Users generally praise the story, RPG-style battles, and striking visuals, especially the mature, spicy content. However, recurring themes across reviews are heavy monetization and paywalls blocking progression, frequent crashes and account issues, and grindy pacing requiring long play to progress. A subset of players also criticizes the use of AI in development. Overall, the game excels in narrative and art but reliability and monetization concerns hinder sustained engagement.
Pros
  • Engaging story plot that many users enjoy
  • Satisfying RPG-style battles and combat mechanics
  • Bold, mature (18+) content paired with appealing character designs
  • High-quality visuals and art/design that are frequently praised
  • Immersive, interactive world and narrative that some players find compelling
Cons
  • Heavy monetization and paywalls that gate progression and premium currencies
  • Frequent technical issues such as crashes, login problems, and progress loss
  • Grindy pacing with too many battles/long progression between story beats
  • Difficulty obtaining new characters or advancing without spending money
  • Concerns about AI usage in development and its impact on the game
Recent reviews
I only recently started playing this game and so far I’m enjoying the game a lot. I love the story plot so far and my 2 most favorite aspects of this game so far are the story plot and the RPG style battles. However, a lot of things are paywalled but not everything is. For example, if you want to replay a past event sub story you have to pay with real money to access the story. I paid real money to be able to replay a past event sub story and it said it was a one time purchase which is supposed to mean that once I pay for that specific purchase once I will never have to pay for that specific purchase again. So since I paid to unlock the past sub story event once to unlock it I should never have to pay for it again and it should remain unlocked permanently. So far it seems this is true but I will not be very happy if I eventually loose access to the story I paid for when it said it was a one time purchase especially since it takes a very long time to complete the story because of how many tasks have to be completed to continue the story. I also like the 18+ content because it’s not too extreme and for me the humor of the game and story makes up for it. I hope the developers continue to make this game very fun to play!

I really love the game, but it’s way too many battles. You can just do one story then you have to do two battle. I don’t mind doing one but two is a lot.

i am a big fan of pretty busy and WHB but after the consistent recent use of generative ai in their games i dont think i can continue to support them. i was a huge fan of love unholyc and dkdkclass, played all the routes and dlc add ons, i LOVED WHB when it released but im just not comfortable buying and playing anymore while the AI use is so excessive
