Features & Capabilities

SingleFile for Safari lets you save an entire webpage as a single HTML file. It preserves layout, images, styles, fonts, frames, and links so the offline snapshot looks and behaves like the live page.

Getting started: wait for the page to fully load, click the SingleFile button in the toolbar to start saving, and click again to cancel if needed. The result is a portable, self-contained file you can revisit offline anytime.

User Reviews

Users praise SingleFile for Safari as a fast, simple way to save webpages as a single HTML file with assets, usable on iOS and across browsers. It’s appreciated for archiving and the potential to produce clean outputs. Recurrent downsides include Safari freezes/crashes, inconsistent save locations, a limited drag-and-drop save workflow, and some UI/icon drawbacks. Users also request more save-location options and improved stability.
Pros
  • Saves an entire webpage as a single HTML file with assets for easy offline viewing/opening in any browser
  • Simple, fast, and easy to use with a one-click save experience
  • Available on iOS Safari, bringing a long-awaited web-archiving feature to iPhone/iPad
  • Can produce clean HTML outputs and, when using Safari's Hide Distractions, removes ads and autoplay content
  • Works across desktop browsers (Firefox/Chrome) and iOS, enabling cross-device archiving
Cons
  • Safari-based performance issues including freezes and occasional crashes, especially during use
  • Inconsistent save location or files sometimes not appearing in accessible folders or disappearing after time
  • Limited save workflow in some cases, relying on drag-and-drop to the Files app rather than a straightforward save path
  • User interface/icon could be improved (dark-mode icons and macOS-style icon) as noted by users

Now the only option to save the file is to drag-n-drop from Safari drop-down download list to folder that is opened in Files App

This app extension works great on Firefox in windows PCs. I like how it will save it as one compressed file and I can also use it to send to other people that don’t have Firefox, but they have an Internet, explorer. When I use this app on my iPhone, it saves the webpages in the extension, location, downloads, and after a few weeks all of the web pages that I saved disappear. Is there anyway that they say pages could be moved to another location to the main Downloads folder on the homepage of the iPhone?
