EYT Early Language

Early Years Toolbox (EYT) Language is an iPad-based assessment of children's early receptive language development. It assesses children's developmental progress in areas of: phonology; emergent literacy; vocabulary; syntax; morphology; grammar; narrative; and more. The assessment consists of 86 cartoon scenes, in which children help the main character solve the language problem she is facing. Items are presented in order of increasing difficulty, with a start rule based on age (requires entering age on the home screen) and stop rule after a number of incorrect responses to prevent frustration associated with overly difficult items. The assessments takes an average of 10 minutes to complete.
